Meet the Founder Marreya Bailey

Mad Marvlus

is a low-intervention wine and cider brand producing unique high-quality delicious creatures with organically-grown and sometimes foraged fruit and botanicals as naturally as possible in Northern California. Mad Marvlus is dedicated to creating consistently high-quality wines and ciders with climate change-friendly ingredients, such as underrepresented fruit like drought-tolerant grapes, hybrid grapes, native grapes, tannic apples, pears, and botanicals like lemon verbena. We apply little to no sulfur if absolutely necessary, ensuring you all enjoy and taste the personality and sense of place in each creature more. Mad Marvlus focuses on also elevating cider to the respectable level as delicious grape wine and redefining a new level of dry fine vinous cider and incorporating wellness.  Additionally, we enjoy applying pan-cultural ancestral fermentation practices that continue respecting the balance amongst art, science, patience, nature, community, and people. 

Marreya Bailey

created Mad Marvlus Wine as an ode to her passions for wine, art, and science. She saw an opportunity to produce wine and cider and elevate them as an art form with some of the most multifaceted and inspiring muses: nature and people. For about a decade, Marreya has been in the world of food and wine from retail management to curating wine bars, sommeliering to wine consulting and cheesemongering bicoastal and throughout the Midwest. Throughout this, she was also working in the corporate world. In 2020, Marreya left the corporate world and nosedived into wine fully immersing herself in production of wine and cider, and viticulture to begin her journey becoming a winemaker and farmer.  After working wine and cider harvests bicoastally, Marreya moved to Sonoma County, California and launched her wine brand, Mad Marvlus Wine.
